I've lived in the Dallas area 20+ years.
I know a lot of artists around here.

Each fabulous in their own right…but unfortunately, all independent of one another:(
So it leaves me with the feeling……
I’ve not connected with my tribe.
I’m tribeless…and I need to find them.
Nope – I haven’t lost my mind….
I’m speaking about finding an art ‘community'.
To own…..become a part of….enjoy and be inspired by.
A crowd of quirky, zany, slightly obnoxious - good hearted group of ex-hippies….or new hippies.
I feel it – I’m missing it…missing the phantom ‘them’ that lingers somewhere…..
Perhaps all artists feel this way from time to time.
I'm looking for my own collection of people and talents – strange nookerholes and random buildings.
People and places that have old-soul.
Not the shiny, new car kind…that keep up with the Jones'…
But the kind that have their favorite boots…proudly display their own sense of style…and usually don’t care about what other people think.
My world is one of southern belles, southern manners, and tidy houses in tidy neighborhoods.
All of which I like too. I really do. I just want a combo package.
More often... the INNER UNIQUE FREAK…gets poured into a semi-poly-ann-a mold every day. Complete with a pony tail and cutesy jogging outfits.

Mind you – it’s by choice…it’s the life I have ( which I count myself very blessed)... and it's molded by the area in which I live.
And to be honest I am thankful and joyful for the normalcy of it.
Having had a life FULL of non-normal events and experiences…..it’s surreal – in a good way.
But …at the same time…all those non-normal things in my life…made me a 'coat of many colors'….and I long to don that coat on many days!!
Just keeping it real.
Soooo....... perhaps if I could find the beginnings of some rare, unique birds along the way…then I can have my cake and eat it too……
I’m intrigued to develop my artsy wardrobe too – which makes me giggle at the thought of it. Because according to my husband….........I already dress a little loud and unusual.
Poor thing…he has no idea what I have intended for myself.
But today as I was meandering sites and blogs…I realized that I think much of it should start with some good boots.

Lots of boots.
All different looks…and the willingness to wear them with anything.
I like that.
I can do that.
**And leggings and tights….stripped and dotted.
Imaging myself walking around my current life in those….boy, will that get some looks – hahaha!!
I think I like it.
